Founder/Master Instructor - Tama Martial Arts Center - Established 1976
1753 Woodman Dr. Dayton, Ohio 45420 Tel. 937-254-7035
Letters of Recommendation
Master Taningco is a martial artist with over 35 years of experience
both in the dojo (studio) and street as a street fighter. Taningco was born and
raised in Manila, Philippines He was first taught by his older brother (a member
of famous BAHALANA Gang) who passed down the ideas of self-protection and self
preservation in the streets of Sampaloc, Manila in 1964. This was the beginning
of his flight in combative arts of the Filipino Arts and Shotokan Karate.
Taningco was nurtured and encouraged by his older brother Alex (now retired
Master Sergeant of U.S. Air Force) in the martial arts in the mid 60's and
continued on strongly when Taningco moved to United States in 1968. Master
Taningco founded TAMA in 1976 for a number of reasons. First and foremost was to
integrate martial arts training in a unique way, which he saw in the Miami
Valley, none was offered. His vision and his purpose in life was to share this
knowledge that has been bestowed upon him. His goal was to establish a martial
arts institute that offers more than one style in a college-style setting. He
had pioneered the children's program, the multi discipline martial arts classes,
and the mixed martial arts. He is the first to bring the Philippine Martial
arts, the Indonesian Martial arts, the Chinese Kung fu, the Japanese
aikijutsu/jujitsu, Kickboxing, and the Muay Thai Kickboxing in the Miami Valley
area. Each style in a college style setting have its own curriculum and
qualified, competent, certified compassionate Black Belt instructors that he had
taught over the years.
Objective:
To establish a very effective martial arts curriculum both in application and
focus discipline in body, mind and spirit. To instill total confidence in each
